Canterbury Community Centre

This project consisted of a renovation and addition to the existing community centre. The design of the existing facility had a very strong architectural style and the addition was designed to respect the existing vernacular.

The functional program required flexibility of spaces to suit a variety of recreational programs. To achieve this, a large activity room with high ceiling and exposed structure was provided for aerobics and other activities and two smaller multipurpose rooms for other activities. High level lighting is provided into each room to provide day lighting while respecting privacy for the occupants and reducing solar gain.

The design aesthetic and material selections were chosen to provide continuity with the existing and refresh the existing Community Centre.
